Stand Up! A Novel for Young Adults and Adults!

Provocative, Controversial Original! A New Generation Rises!

Excerpt

“If I love only myself, I will talk about what is mine and I will shout about my rights. Some self-lovers will even force prejudice, hatred and suffering on others. But, if we, if we truly love our world, if we love happiness, fairness, and peace, and if we care about other written beings, we will apply the rules of empathy and decency. We will stand up and we will do what is right for the future! We will do what is right for others!”

“True revolutionary purpose must express a passion and a desire to impose decency. It must assert that every being has a right to live with dignity.”

“Only empathy, strength, and determination, can make us stand up for what is decent for every race, every culture, and for every written being!”

Crime or Miracle!

There has been a break-in at the production line. DNA sequencing has been altered and the result is the first mixed race being!  A struggle takes place in a world which is nothing like ours, but with which we have much in common.

This is the Written World!

Why Read It!

I believe that there is a kinder, happier alternative to the world we live in now. K.Z.

I believe that the youth of our world need a new perspective, and that it is time for a cultural and racial recognition: a Cultural Revolution that looks towards the beauty in society and humanity, while promoting recognition of what makes every human being the same, instead of what makes us different. A revolution in thinking that MUST change the way things are done.

So, I’ve written a story, that takes place in a world that has its parallels to ours, but which is much more beautiful than ours: where 4 cultures are still intact and full of their distinct music, dance, arts, socialization, and concept of time, and where the natural world is intact.

The Written World is a strange and unfamiliar starting point for a discussion. It is more of an ideal world. Yet, it is going through the early stages of having the same problems that our world has. This world is inhabited by extremely human characters: 5 written races and 4 cultures, each with their own wonderful differences: Markers, Pencils, Pencil Crayons, Pens, Wax Crayons and erasers. Some of these races are still pure, not contaminated by the greed, lies, corruption, sick social interaction, and hyper competitive, dog eat dog ideals, which dominate in our own adult world.

But the joyous social interaction between the 5 written races is under attack. Concentration of wealth and power have reared their ugly heads. The idea that all other races, cultures, and living beings are beautiful and important is waning. Secretively, and exclusively, manipulated by the rich and powerful in a small subsector of the Marker’s population, the media has successfully promoted a view of the world that is not real, and has ruthlessly covered up what is the most controversial event in the history of the Written World.

It is only in the past 100 years that a dominant elite class has evolved, controlling communication, the essential economy (critical monopolies over information and food), and the government. They have invented private ownership of the coasts.

The true leaders of the Written World, Stand Up to the Establishment, because they recognize the beauty and value that is found in others, and because they care about their world, and about other Written Beings, just as much as they care about their own interests!

There is no arms industry in this world, no weapons of war. The races have until recently, lived together in military peace, within a world that involved almost no violence, at least not violence that the population was aware of.

I’ve described the traditions, the values, and the beauty found in each of 6 distinct races, 5 cultures, and in the natural world. It was a great pleasure to do so!

I believe that human beings can be better and that we can create societies and cultures that are both helpful and hopeful.

A Not So Common Invitation: An experiment:

Write me an idea of your own about a change that could be made to make the world better, to make our world culture better, to make your society better, to make democracy better, to make information better, or any alternative you can think of to improve the lives of others.

I’m thinking that we could find a way to publish positive alternatives: Alternatives to what corrupt and idiot politicians, corporate leaders, and dictators, are doing all over the world!

We could also write about positive examples of leadership and change, that you have found in our world.!

Of course, we can do this in writing. Hopefully reading will survive!

As a young adult, I also invite you to read the story and write to me about how this story could apply to our world. I hope that the story makes you think about what might change in our world, for the betterment and happiness of everyone else!
